Majesty Arrives in Piraeus In Preparations for New Owners

Majesty Chega a Piraeus Em Preparações para Novos Donos

Former Royal Caribbean's cruise ship, Majesty of the Seas, now simply Majesty, has arrived in Piraeus this morning in preparations to be delivered to her new owners, Saturn Oceanway Inc.

Now stripped of her old company's markings, the Majesty has spent the last months in Souda, Greece, in cold lay-up. In the meanwhile, Royal Caribbean announced her sale - and Empress' - to undisclosed owners. The Majesty has been associated with Saturn Oceanway, a company that thus buys their first cruise ship.

The Majesty is expected to remain in Piraeus for the upcoming weeks, whilst continuing to be in limbo status, as the plans for the ship are unknown. The new owners have no reputation on the cruising industry and it's yet to be found if the company is just an intermediate for scrap or possesses plans to operate her. Upon a search, we found Saturn Oceanway has a registry of a sale of a small cargo ship to Alang, but not really much more information is found. Time will tell, what happens to the former Majesty of the Seas and the plans that are in place for the last Sovereign Class cruise ship.

O antigo navio de cruzeiros da Royal Caribbean, Majesty of the Seas, agora simplesmente Majesty, chegou ao Pireu esta manhã para se preparar para ser entregue aos seus novos proprietários, Saturn Oceanway Inc.

Agora despojada das marcas de sua antiga empresa, a Majestade passou os últimos meses em Souda, Grécia, em cold lay-up. Nesse ínterim, a Royal Caribbean anunciou a sua venda - e a do Empress - para proprietários não revelados. O Majesty está associado à Saturn Oceanway, empresa que, assim, compra seu primeiro navio de cruzeiro.

Espera-se que o Majesty permaneça no Pireu nas próximas semanas, embora continue em estado de limbo, pois os planos para o navio são desconhecidos. Os novos proprietários não têm reputação na indústria de cruzeiros e ainda não foi descoberto se a empresa é apenas um intermediário para sucata ou se possui planos para operá-lo. Numa busca, descobrimos que o Saturn Oceanway tem um registo de uma venda de um pequeno navio de carga para Alang, mas não encontramos muitas outras informações. O tempo dirá o que acontecerá com o ex-Majesty of the Seas e os planos para o último navio de cruzeiros da classe Sovereign.
